CAPT Wins Floating Dispute

CAPT emerged as the victor in an expedited arbitration with the Department of State Hospitals (DSH) involving a contractual dispute over floating. Presenting CAPT’s case at the May 17 expedited arbitration hearing was CAPT Metro Chapter President Chuck Garcia, acting as HQ Labor Representative with the assistance of Consultant Ann Lyles. The arbitration centered on whether Napa State Hospital’s Administrative Directive 675, Section VIII, paragraph C, violated Article 9.15 of CAPT’s MOU with the State. The bench decision, delivered May 21, granted CAPT’s grievance, rendering the NSH’s Administrative Directive in direct conflict with Article 9.15.
